NorCal Business Marketing Association Seeks Creative Entries for 2004 Beacon Awards and Showcase
SAN JOSE, CA — Aug. 25, 2004 — The Northern California Business Marketing Association (NorCal BMA) is now accepting entries for its third annual awards competition — the 2004 Beacon Awards and Showcase. The Beacon Awards recognize excellence in business-to-business marketing with gold, silver, and bronze-level awards for work that demonstrates superior strategy and execution in eleven categories.
The competition is open to any client, agency, or supplier who has created or produced marketing communications directed to industry, business or professionals. Either the agency or the client must be located in Northern California.
The deadline for submitting entries is Sept. 17, 2004 (early bird discount for entries postmarked by Aug. 30). Interested professionals may visit www.norcalbma.org for details on eligibility, submission requirements, entry fees, and entry forms.
“The Beacon Awards and Showcase is the only awards program in the Bay Area that recognizes business-to-business marketing excellence. The program offers a forum for marketing professionals to be honored among B-to-B leaders for successfully transforming their marketing ideas into defined results,” said Tom Lauck, president, NorCal BMA. “This competition is an important part of BMA’s mission to foster professional development, networking and the advancement of the business-to-business marketing discipline.”
Beacon Awards and Showcase winners will receive their awards at a gala luncheon on Oct. 13, 2004 at the Crowne Plaza Cabana in Redwood City. New to this year’s awards program will be a Best of Show award. The award-winning entries will be on display in a gallery-style exhibition offering guests a chance to not only view the best creative work in the region, but also to stimulate their own ideas and find new marketing suppliers.

Northern California Business Marketing Association Honors Beacon Award Winners
BEACON AWARDS, REDWOOD CITY, CA -- Sept. 24, 2003 -- The best of business-to-business marketing was honored at the annual Northern California Business Marketing Association's (NorCal BMA) Beacon Awards and Showcase event today. The Beacon Awards is the only awards program in the Bay Area that recognizes business-to-business marketing excellence.
"The winners of this year's Beacon Awards demonstrate the high level of quality work being produced by Northern California marketing professionals," said Louise Saufley, NorCal BMA chairman of the board. "They are to be commended for their achievements, especially in a year with reduced resources due to the economy."
The luncheon event recognized marketing professionals with gold, silver, and bronze-level awards for work that demonstrated superior strategy and execution in 15 categories ranging from marketing and e-media to total communications programs.

Beacon Awards and Showcase to Recognize Brilliance at NorCal Business Marketing Association Special Event
Award winners to be announced Sept. 24, 2003
SAN JOSE, CA -- Sept. xx, 2003 -- The Northern California Business Marketing Association (NorCal BMA) will present awards for the best in business-to-business marketing at its Beacon Awards and Showcase event on Sept. 24, 2003. All B2B marketing professionals are invited to attend the second annual gala luncheon to be held at the Pacific Athletic Club in Redwood City.
The Beacon Awards is the only awards program in the Bay Area that recognizes B2B marketing excellence. The upcoming event will honor marketing professionals with gold, silver, and bronze-level awards for work that demonstrates superior strategy and execution in 15 categories ranging from e-media to total communications programs. The competition was open to any Northern California client, agency, or supplier that created and/or produced B2B marketing communications in the last year.
The award-winning entries will be on display in a gallery-style exhibition offering guests a chance to not only view the best creative work in the region, but also to stimulate their own ideas, find new marketing suppliers, and network with each other.
During the luncheon portion of the program, the Beacon awards will be presented by Rick Kean, executive director of International BMA. Kean has published numerous articles and is a frequent speaker on B2B marketing and communications subjects. Kean was named recently to B-to-B Magazine's annual list of "Who's Who in B-to-B." He received his communications degree from Southern Illinois University, and has earned the Certified Business Communicator credential, a professional designation that recognizes knowledge and professional conduct in the field of B2B marketing communications. He serves currently as a visiting professor of Integrated Marketing Communications at Roosevelt University.
Souvenir Beacon Awards wine glasses will be available for purchase at the event, valuable gifts will be raffled, and music will be provided by the jazz band "Pierced Heart."
